Water Hookup
The Aurora 16BHX has two ways to get water: city water hookup (pressurized from the campsite) or the onboard fresh water tank with the water pump.
City water hookup (recommended at campgrounds)
Section titled “City water hookup (recommended at campgrounds)”What you need
Section titled “What you need”- White/blue drinking water hose (never use a garden hose — it can leach chemicals)
- Pressure regulator (recommended — campsite pressure can exceed 80 PSI and damage fittings)
- Water filter (optional but recommended)
Connecting
Section titled “Connecting”- Locate the city water inlet on the driver’s side of the camper (a white threaded fitting with a check valve).
- Attach your pressure regulator to the spigot first (set to under 45 PSI — campsite pressure can exceed 80 PSI and damage fittings).
- Connect your water filter inline (optional).
- Connect the drinking water hose between the filter/regulator and the city water inlet.
- Turn on the spigot slowly.
- Check all connections for leaks.
- Open a faucet inside to bleed air from the lines.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”- Turn off the campsite spigot.
- Open a faucet inside to relieve pressure.
- Disconnect the hose from the camper inlet.
- Drain and store the hose.
Fresh water tank (dry camping / boondocking)
Section titled “Fresh water tank (dry camping / boondocking)”The Aurora 16BHX has an onboard fresh water tank (~30 gallons).
Filling the tank
Section titled “Filling the tank”- Locate the fresh water fill port on the exterior (usually labeled, near the city water inlet).
- Use a clean drinking water hose.
- Fill until water comes out the overflow vent.
- Cap the fill port securely.
Using the water pump
Section titled “Using the water pump”- Make sure the city water hose is disconnected.
- Turn on the water pump switch (usually on the main control panel inside).
- You’ll hear the pump prime — it may cycle on/off as you use water.
- Turn the pump off when not in use to prevent running it dry.
Tank level monitor
Section titled “Tank level monitor”The control panel has a tank level display. Levels are approximate:
- E / 1/4 / 1/2 / 3/4 / Full
At 1/4 tank, start planning to refill or conserve.
Water conservation tips (dry camping)
Section titled “Water conservation tips (dry camping)”- Navy showers (wet down, turn off, soap up, rinse)
- Use paper plates to reduce dishwashing
- Fill a gallon jug for drinking water to avoid running the pump for small amounts
- 30 gallons = roughly 2–3 days for two people with conservative use
